Getting our independence back

Asking is pointless.
There is a better way.

A way that over 60 countries have used to restore or gain their own independence. It’s democratic, non-violent, backed by the UN and under the complete control of the Scottish people.

It’s a PLAN FOR INDEPENDENCE.

A plan for independence

Make this YOUR plan to restore Scotland’s independence

The plan will turn next year’s Holyrood election into a plebisicite (a referendum) on extending the powers of our parliament over the union. This will give our parliament the power to leave the union and declare our independence, subject to a referendum.

1. A Plebiscite Election

Make next year’s election about extending the powers of the Scottish parliament.

2. Assert Power over the Union

After the election, the Scottish parliament has a mandate from the people to assert power over the union.

3. A Powerful Parliament

Parliament now has the power to dissolve the union and restore our independence.

4. A New Referendum

Hold a referendum to confirm that we want the union to end and to take back the independence that we lost in 1707.

It’s time to apply pressure

The Manifesto for Independence enables the pro-independence parties to support the plan.

Join the movement to force the pro-independence parties to include the Manifesto for Independence (MFI) in their own manifestos for the 2026 election.

It’s up to you. Don’t just accept what they want to give you. Tell them what YOU want. Tell them you want to see the Manifesto for Independence in their manifestos, or maybe you just won’t vote for them

Manifesto for Independence: Summary

  1. Reject the Section 30 process: stop asking Westminster for independence
  2. Declare the Scottish Parliament election a referendum on extending the powers of the Scottish parliament.
  3. Seize the power over the constitution in the Scottish Parliament.
  4. Recall Scotland’s MPs from Westminster and convene a National Convention to draft a provisional Scottish Constitution.
  5. Present a bill to the Scottish parliament for Scotland to leave the UK and become an independent country once more.
  6. Hold a referendum on leaving the Union.

Support the plan: sign the petition

Under my authority as a sovereign Scot I declare that I want my Scottish Parliament to take control over the union of the kingdoms of Scotland and England and then remove Scotland from the union.

By signing this petition, I am telling the pro-independence parties and candidates to adopt this Manifesto for Independence in their own manifestos for the 2026 election.

Support the plan: sign the petition

Put pressure on the parties or individuals that you intend to vote for in the Holyrood election in 2026 by signing the petition.

Ask your candidates if they agree with the Manifesto for Independence and if not, why not. Ask them what their plan to restore our independence is. If it includes asking Westminster for another referendum, then you know they aren’t serious.

Campaign: spread the word

This doesn’t work with only a few people signing the petition so spread the word as far as you can.

In the 2021 Holyrood election, over 2,600,000 votes were given to pro-independence parties. These voters are the people that should sign the petition.

Spread the word by word of mouth and through your social media accounts. We’ll keep you up to date with progress by email.

Remember: the petition puts pressure on the pro-independence parties to include a real plan to restore Scotland’s independence in their manifestos.
